If you’re upset about today’s announcement, please re-direct your anger and advocate for a safe September.
This includes full vaccination of teaching staff and students, mental health supports, proactive testing, access to better masks, etc.
Our students deserve it.
If schools and kids had been this government’s priority, all education workers would be vaccinated, schools would have the extra staff and resources necessary, tracking and testing would have given us better data. These conditions are not in place.
The @fordnation govt has voted against teaching students about the impacts of colonialism and removing systemic barriers from the education system. Their refusal to do more for our children and to bring more equity into the classroom is completely unacceptable. 👇 #onpoli
Instead of the “I gotcha!” mentality when it comes to evaluation, try the “I’ve got you” approach. If we teachers are tired imagine what the students feel like! #learning#onted#CompassionateTeaching
Time to take a stand, @HarveyBischof, @skirkeyosstf25. Temporary pain now or a legacy of lasting damage to public education for generations.
Hybrid learning must never be acceptable outside of a global pandemic, and neither is outsourcing to TVO.
Another good reminder the Ford government was never about protecting students and education workers, but it was solely about optics and “damage control”. #VoteFordOut2022#onpoli#onted

In a few days, I'll release a Minecraft Education world designed to teach students about Canadian history from 1914 to 1939. The world features links to videos, articles, and primary sources. @RCollishaw @OHASSTA@PlayCraftLearn
Today, as the Ontario Government voted against #PaidSickDays for the 21st time since the start of the pandemic...we were all reminded that the Premier's tears were never actually real.
#COVID19
#BREAKING: The Ontario government has once again voted against #PaidSickDays.
In total, our government has now voted against paid sick days 21 times since the start of the #COVID19 pandemic.
If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.
I don't really care that Doug Ford dropped out of highschool or used to deal pot or that he can't use a laptop. I care very deeply that his policies have resulted in so much horrific, unnecessary loss of life. #DougFord#onpoli#COVID19Ontario
Take this in:
During the most critical & deadly stage so far of Ontario’s 3rd wave, Premier Ford is literally hiding from media and the official opposition - refusing to take questions and accountability.
This is what abandoning an entire province looks like. #WhereIsDougFord
Data obtained by the Star show that 5 higher-risk postal codes recommended by Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table were left off the final list of hot spots, while 8 lower-risk areas — most of which are in PC ridings — were included. https://t.co/twAzMVKE3U
As politicians discuss #PaidSickDays while my essential worker patients languish in the ICU...it's ironic that the man who can fix this inequity, has taken a (paid) day off work.
