Despite systemic efforts to remove, limit, direct, and control my mind and body, artistic expression has been my space to make choices. Making creative choices showed me pathways to make choices in those spaces which sought to strip me of them.

Last night @nhannahjones came to ISU and talked for a brief moment about choice and autonomy of our bodies and it made me realize something. Art is one of the few yet most consistent spaces where I have been able to practice making choices.
