if a mother was sacrifice personified, then a daughter was guilt, with no possibility of redress .

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@kyoshiing " i hardly see the need to. "

it's an honest answer, even if it precedes a shrug. it's her way of coping with a lot of things, to shrug them off.

" ill be fine. will you go to the festival yourself ? "

@kyoshiing it is a sensitive matter... one she doesn't think she can disclose to anyone.

" i... think that im supposed to be on patrol that day. so in a way, i suppose i will. "

combing her hair, a ribbon carefully held between her lips so she can tie it once she's done.

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@OFYOKOYA " okay, you look like me. what are you trying to prove with this, exactly ? "

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

" did you fall and hit your head or something ? "

there is both concern and irritation in her voice.
she's LONG * past the age of 22.

[𝙄 𝘿𝙀𝙁𝙔 @OFYOKOYA]

She instinctively scratched at the back of her head.
“I’m really sorry, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m only twenty two. I don’t know how you’d be my child.” She admitted, lips pursing as she took a better look at the other. She DID look like her.

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@OFYOKOYA koko seems just as unimpressed as before.
it's her face, now what ?

maybe this would have worked on a lot of people, but she doesn't see her mother's face nearly enough to be able to tell a difference on what it's supposed to look like.

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

... thanks.

she won't but... ( a shrug ) well. im not even sure what point im trying to make here.

That's something you two need to discuss. If you want her to stay around for awhile longer then tell her.

All I can say is, good luck and wish you the best.

@kyoshiing she shrugs again, not that willing to elaborate.

" it's not a big deal. happens to everyone at some point. "

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

wakey, wakey @YARENZYANYA.

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@kyoshiing " it's less stressful. "

she continues as she is, placing each checked fan back in the box, folded closed.

" it doesn't sting either. "

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@kyoshiing " nothing specific, just stuff my mother figures i should know. "

again a shrug, uninterested.
she can't tell suki just why kyoshi is so insistent that she learns, but...

" something about leadership and whatnot. "

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@kyoshiing " battle plan reviewing. why ? "

answered without ever taking her attention off the fans, unsure of where the desire for small talk came from.

but fine, she'll bite.

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@kyoshiing ( hope she has plenty of time to spare, because she'll test each and every one of them. from the metal pins to the leaves, to the way the fan glides open and snaps shut.

she can be petty if it really comes down to it. )

[𝐻𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘹 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃. @KOIKEISHO]

@kyoshiing ( call it being true to her world, malicious compliance, whatever you want... but koko does sit down to check everything.

even going as far as disassembling each and every fan to check their status.
they'll be here a while. )
