Emiliano Martínez: "I want to win it for Messi more than for myself. I’d give my life for him."
Joao Neves: "Ronaldo is no different from anyone else. He's just another player here to help the team
I'm so grateful that Ronaldo won the euros with the generation that he won it with. Those players were not as talented as the current squad, but they played their hearts out on the pitch. These entitled brats of today don't deserve anything.
TOMIDE, YOU CAN DO BETTER
This is coming from a place of honesty, not hate.
You’re the same person who once questioned why people post every little achievement online, arguing that showing off things like cars can do more harm than good to young people. Yet now, after getting an invitation to France for the eWorld Cup, you’ve been doing exactly what you criticized others for.
You’ve always preached equality, giving opportunities to others, and supporting people regardless of their status. But then you publicly told KDC that his engagement wasn’t big enough for you to respond to him. What do we call that?
The reality is simple: KDC might be a smaller football creator compared to you today. But we all started at zero followers. Nobody begins at the top.
What is even more disappointing is how quickly football banter sometimes turns into personal attacks. Instead of keeping it about football, you often look for people’s weaknesses to use against them. You’ve even reduced people to being “just followers,” as if following someone automatically means admiration or loyalty. It doesn’t. People can learn from your content without agreeing with you, liking you, or supporting everything you do.
It’s similar to listening to a pastor. I don’t have to personally like a pastor, pope, or preacher before I can learn something valuable from their message. The value of a message is separate from the personality delivering it.
That’s why actions matter. You cannot preach equality, fairness, and good morals while degrading people and damaging their confidence over football banter.
You often reference the Bible, so it’s worth remembering what Jesus taught in Matthew 5:39: “If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” I’m not saying you have to live that perfectly; we’re all human. But if you’re going to position yourself as a public football creator, you have to accept that criticism, banter, and disagreement come with the territory.
Look at the biggest names in sports and entertainment. Think about CR7, Burna Boy, Davido, or Wizkid. The amount of criticism, insults, and even hateful comments they receive daily is far beyond what most people can imagine. Yet they keep moving.
The truth is simple: some people will love you, some people will dislike you, and some people will disagree with you. Not everyone is going to praise you or “lick your boots.”
If you’re going to preach values publicly, then you should strive to embody them. Nobody is asking you to be perfect. Just be consistent. Grow a thicker skin, take football banter for what it is, and lead by example; especially now that you’ve been blessed with a larger platform.
I wrote this because too often, your actions don’t match the principles you preach. If that’s not who you really are, then none of this applies. But if it is, then maybe it’s something worth reflecting on.
Shalom.
