Please join me in welcoming Darius Gatson as the new Head Basketball Coach at Klein High School!
Coach Gatson brings a wealth of experience, an impressive playing career, and a proven track record of success. We are confident he will lead our basketball program with passion, purpose, and pride.
A proud alumnus of Klein Forest High School, Coach Gatson had a standout high school career, leading his team to a remarkable 33-4 record and a trip to the state finals in Austin as a junior. As a senior, he averaged 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, earning All-District honors and recognition as a true leader on the court.
Following high school, he continued his basketball journey at Trinity Valley Community College, where he earned All-Region honors and guided his team to outstanding records. He then played for Sam Houston State University, where he started all 32 games as point guard and ranked second in the Southland Conference in assists.
Coach Gatson’s deep understanding of the game, combined with his experience and leadership, make him an incredible addition to our Bearkat family.
To officially welcome Coach Gatson, we will be hosting a Meet and Greet on Wednesday, April 16 at 6:00 PM in the Klein High LGI. We hope you’ll join us for this special evening to meet Coach Gatson, hear about his vision for the program, and ask any questions you may have.
We’re excited for this next chapter of Klein High Basketball and are confident it will be one filled with growth, teamwork, and success. Thank you for your continued support—and as always, Go Bearkats!
