Limited legal local TV programmes did after all exist in the past in parts of the country via cable TV (and the now discontinued MMDS system). The interviewer was then a FF councillor and well known individual in the area.

@pirate_ie @BrianGreene @IBHallofFame @EddieCaffrey @KieranMurray47 regarding 'wobble' on playback on this and other tapes, it MAY play better if the tape is transplanted into another (known good) cassette housing for digitising, as there can be issues with old cassette housing. I appreciate its more work without guarantee of a better outcome.

The interviewer, from AMS radio, interviewing for a pretend pirate TV station, became 'Robin Banks' on Atlantic 252 and Virgin etc in the UK. https://t.co/2LswUOLxtf

@pirate_ie @BillEbrill @BrianGreene @IBHallofFame Yes can hear background bleedthrough. Echoing of the same audio can occur on old tapes however this is completely different audio of a broadcast. I suspect pickup from close proximity to an AM transmitter (assuming this was at studio location?) when this tape was being recorded

@pirate_ie @BrianGreene @IBHallofFame Regarding that KTOK 'may' have discontinued the AM transmitter (by/during 1988), a listing from July 1988 at https://t.co/MAL0ylvti0 indicates so, as it lists KTOK as then being "FM only".However not everything is 100% accurate in those lists(nor could you have expected it to be)

@pirate_ie @gersweeney67 @BrianGreene @IBHallofFame @LCCR1 The FM frequency stated, 97.7 (over such a wide area!) is curious,as in late 1987 ERI in Cork moved to 97.7 and stayed there to the end (moved from 96.9 after alleged interference by RTE). There must have been bad 'picketfencing' between both 97.7 stations in north Co. Cork etc

@KillianM2 696666 - RTE sometimes irritated folk outside the Pale by not having the 01- prefix on on-screen Dublin phone numbers :) Also possibility of callers ringing someone else! Even in 5-digit areas (the majority of the country then), dialling 696666 would ring 69666 (if it was in use)

The mention of Johnny Cash in Omagh relates to 1/May 1989. Radio Star Country was going strong at that time,but unclear if any Cavan station was on then post 1988 closures
