I want to tell you about a criminal case I’ve been contacted about.

It’s not pleasant, but in light of @BorisJohnson’s comments yesterday, I think it’s important.

It’s not one of my cases, but it’s v similar to many I prosecute. It involves serious allegations of rape. [THREAD]

He’s now simply ignoring the questions. The press should all keep asking the same question until he answers. The contempt that this Prime Minister has for the people of this country is jaw-dropping. Never seen anything like it. Trump has arrived.

Our Justice minister is either ignorant or lying. The courts are not operating “normally”. Defendants are self-isolating in their hundreds, juries are being discharged and trials are collapsing across the country.

“Justice will continue” is a meaningless slogan, not a strategy.

I have no particular insight into her case or her personal circumstances. But some general observations are set out below for assistance.
