What if we taught our kids differently?We're so caught up in covering the syllabus that we forget: young people don't just need information. They need inspiration. They need to know that the problems they'll face have been faced before, and that there are ways to move through them with integrity.

What if a student learned chemistry and understood why Ramakrishna Paramahamsa devoted his life to seeking truth? What if they studied history while grappling with Swami Vivekananda's questions about nation, purpose, and individual development?

At Adamas, we're experimenting with this. Not preaching values, but letting students discover them through the stories of those who lived them.
The real question I wrestle with is: Are we preparing students for tests, or for life? Because those are two very different goals.

Forty years ago, a classroom in Kolkata dared to believe that merit deserves a stage.
At #Samabartan (RICE Convocation) I saw what that belief has built.
Five friends, One study circle. 8 years between the first crack and the last. When the final one made it- the other four came back. Not summoned. just there. Because that is what this family does.
A boy with no money asked for a job just to stay near his dream. I saw him at the gate every morning . One day, he was gone. One day he walked back in-as a Sub-Inspector of Police.
On the same stage-parents who are bureaucrats, children who are bureaucrats. Brothers. Sisters. One family. One Nation's service.
This is not a convocation. This is a reckoning.

RICE was never just coaching. It was always a cradle of nation-builders.

The Galaxy keeps expanding.

रोज़ रोज़ इन विशिष्ट लोगों को गाड़ियों से सीधे घाट तक एस्कॉर्ट के साथ ढोया जा रहा है, वहीँ आम जनता 20-20 किलोमीटर पैदल चलने के बाद भी ढंग से स्नान नहीं कर पा रही है।
ये मौतें भगदड़ से नहीं हुई हैं, ये प्रशासन की लापरवाही की वजह से हुई हैं।

भगवान के द्वार पर आम आदमी, VIP, विधायक, मंत्री, मुख्यमंत्री, प्रधानमंत्री सब बराबर रहेंगे, ये याद रखने वाली बात है।

ईश्वर पीड़ितों को जल्दी स्वस्थ करें और दिवंगत आत्माओं को अपने श्रीचरणों में स्थान दें।

I was re-watching Rang De Basanti recently. It left me with so many thoughts. When the movie released in 2006, India ranked 105th on the Press Freedom Index. Fast forward to 2024, and we're at 159. A sharp decline.

A MiG-21 aircraft’s crash is a pivotal point in the movie. The movie used subject matter that was rooted in reality.

Since 1970, over 170 Indian pilots and 40 civilians have died in MiG-21 accidents, earning the plane the grim nickname "flying coffin." More than 50% of the 840 MiG-21s produced between 1966 and 1984 were lost in crashes.

It made me wonder, do filmmakers feel the same level of freedom in 2024? We've become so polarized that a story like this would likely spark huge controversy today. Don’t see a lot of films like this, rooted in real issues, be made these days.
