Krzysztof Zanussi's "The Structure of Crystal" (1969) is one of those art films which represents the mundanity of life. There are a lot of scenes in the movie where Zanussi mutes the dialogue back & forth to tell only what is essential to the viewer. It's a clever tactic & it really surprised me, how well he managed to do it. The intellectual conversations between the protagonists, the non verbal acting, the serenity of Jan's life, Kawecki's intolerance towards Jan's way of life & finally the exquisite cinematography & background score is one that I would never forget in my life. Overall, it's an outstanding debut feature.
P.S: On this day, 57 years ago, "The Structure of Crystal" (1969) was released in Poland.
