Someone once said that when they feel nervous about doing something and their heart starts beating really fast, that they call it their "inner applause" because their heart is cheering them on, and I think that's the sweetest narrative adjustment ever.
When 1 bitch don't like u, she teams up with another bitch who don't like u, & before u know it there's a group of hating bitches, funny thing is they don't even like each other, fake af
“one of the clearest signs of intelligence is being able to hear an opinion you disagree with and not act emotionally. some of the people you disagree with: can teach you the most.”
Make sure you respect your partner more than you love them.
You can do a lot of damage to them while still loving them.
When you respect them, you'll think about them before you make any decision and you will think about the impact it will have on them.
Love can fade, but never respect.
The downside of being emotionally intelligent is that I can list a thousand reasons why I should hate a person, but I've analyzed them to the point where I understand why they act the way they do so really, I can't even be mad.
for someone to make an active decision to never speak to you again, and they deeply care/ love you that tells you A LOT. they're aware they have to go through a grieving process over that decision to remove you and still pick that over having you in their life??? speaks volumes.
Never explain anything to someone who’s accusing you of something you didn’t do.
There are many reasons behind this...
1. You have nothing to prove:
You know the truth and you know who’s wrong.
If they’re genuine enough, they’ll catch up.
2. Nobody’s entitled to your energy:
This is self-explanatory.
The more you explain yourself the more you drain yourself…
And guess what?
The less credible you are.
3. People don’t like the truth:
If they reach the point of accusing you, they’ve already made up their mind.
Their bias is too ingrained and established.
Nothing you will say will change what they have in mind.
So again…
Resist the urge to explain yourself.
You look at them in the eyes, you laugh, you brush it off and you move on with your life.
You know what’s true.
You know who you are.
You know they are wrong.
You just…
Fuck it, we ball.
If you offer me a sincere apology and change your behavior, I'll never bring up our past issues again. But if no apology was given and you’re still repeating mistakes, you can't ask me to stop mentioning the past. The "past" is actually the present if u haven't changed.
my therapist told me this and it hit me: “healing is so hard because it is a constant battle between your inner child who is scared and just wants safety.... your inner teenager who is angry and just wants justice.... and your current self-who is tired and just wants peace."
"your trauma made u stronger". nah my trauma made me traumatized. it made me become an overthinker, it gave me memory loss, and it gave me feelings i've never wanted. i made myself stronger. i accepted the situation for what it was and moved on from it.
Just apologize when you know that you fckd up. All of that manipulative behavior and being mad at a person for being mad at you, when they have a legit reason to be, is just weird. People love to say they grown until it's time to hold themselves accountable.
No matter what happens, I’ll be okay. The world has ended for me many times before, and somehow it always begins again. Some things are unfortunate. Some are unnecessary. Some are exhausting. But life goes on, and every time it does, I’m reminded that I’m indestructible.
The people who cause you the most hurt, will then create false narratives around you, your experiences, and your character. They do this because in order to be honest about who you are, they would have to be honest about what they’ve done.
