Reverend Lisa came to visit KS1 to share with them the story of the very first Christmas and why celebrate Christmas. We also sang 'Away in Manger' and 'We wish you a Merry Christmas'. Thank you Reverend Lisa
Year 2 have been developing their hand-eye coordination through slow paced observational drawing of leaves. We then used these skills to help create leaf paintings with wax crayon and ink as well as experimenting using printing techniques and leaf rubbings. Great effort Year 2.π
In art, Year 2 learnt about the artist Henri Rousseau and looked at examples of his work. We recapped the primary colours and which secondary colours were made by mixing these together. We started drawing our favourite animals to begin our rainforest collages. Great work!
Year 2 art club have enjoyed creating some lovely drawings of hedgehogs using oil pastels then adding leaves to finish off. Brilliant work everyone!π¦π¦π¦
As part of our Diwali celebrations in school, Spruce have made lanterns. We followed the instructions and had a fabulous time creating them. They all looked wonderful - well done Spruce!
Today has been our in-school Diwali Celebration, and as part of their Forest School Lesson, Year One made Diva Lamps using clay and water, and Rangoli Pattern Paper Plates using resources they could find in our Forest School area. E.G, leaves, sticks and stones. Well-done!ππ³
Members of the School Council joined other local schools and representatives of the community at the clock in Priorslee as part of the Remembrance Day commemorations. It was lovely to see the event build on the success of last year.
Year 1 have enjoyed their final art lesson taking time to see the work they have created. The children displayed their work and spoke about what they have achieved themselves as well as praising other childrenβs work. The children were pleased with their hard-work this term.
Some of our Y1 and Y2 pupils had lots of fun competing in the KS1 Athletics held at @telfordcollege. The children worked very hard and had lots of fun! @TWSSP πππββοΈ
Continuing our theme in art, Year 1 have applied their drawing skills to produce observational drawings of shells, as well as creating swirls by finger painting on foil. They also enjoyed drawing circles on the playground using chalks. Well done everyone!
Spruce Class thoroughly enjoyed making their jam sandwiches as part of their English topic about 'Instructions'. They were able to think of the imperative verbs that they needed and they will write up their instructions later this week
This Thursday (5th October 2023) is National Poetry Day. In Ash Class this week, we have been looking at different poems and discussing what we like about them and why. In five groups, the children wrote key words about why they liked each poem we read. ππ
This month is Black History Month and in Ash Class this week, we have been learning about Rosa Parks. The children made a zig zag bus booklet which included a fact about Rosa Parks and why she is an inspirational person today. ππ
