We are assessing potential launch opportunities in the coming weeks. More updates to come soon about Phoenix 2 and another project 👀 🚀
Standing down from today’s launch attempt of Phoenix 2. We’re evaluating potential launch opportunities in the coming week, but temperatures and precipitation are looking unfavorable.
Currently proceeding with L-1 preparation for Phoenix 2. Weather is currently highly unfavorable due to ground conditions, but time will be allowed for the ground to potentially dry tomorrow.
If tomorrow’s launch attempt scrubs, the next attempt will be in 2026.
Other changes for this flight include a refined landing algorithm, a Kalman filter for altitude detection, and refined attitude measurements.
More updates will be shared soon as we track towards launch day. Final checkouts on software readiness will be completed soon.
The Polulu VNH5019 motor controller was selected after initially using an Arduino in order to make the system compatible with Phoenix’s flight computer. The only additional hardware added to the computer were wires for data and power.
