@SenBlumenthal How dare someone try to make money performing a service Americans actually want. If the government stayed out of it, it would be much better! This service is a want, not a need; so, stay out of it. If we don’t want to pay the extra price, then we won’t; nobody forces us to pay it
In the end, Platner chose as his closing act a page right out of @realDonaldTrump's tawdry playbook.
Deny. Deflect. Refuse responsibility. Play the martyr; slime your accusers.
Platner built an admirable movement.
But there was nothing admirable about the way he said goodbye.
@JesseKellyDC “Now and then,” i.e. betraying only on the most important cases like mail in voting and Obamacare. In my opinion, it’s not the count of decisions that “go our way” that matters; it’s which of the most important cases that go the correct way: some are more important than others.
🚨SCOTUS RULING🚨
The Supreme Court just ruled, 5-4, that Mississippi (and about 30 other states) can keep counting absentee ballots that are mailed by Election Day but arrive a few days later.
The majority, written by Justice Barrett, reasoned that the term “election” in the statutes refers to the voters’ act of choosing candidates (casting ballots), not the receipt of ballots by officials, as confirmed by historical meaning, related federal laws like UOCAVA, and constitutional structure that separates voting day from ballot processing.
The Court reversed the Fifth Circuit, emphasizing that states retain authority over ballot receipt deadlines while Congress sets a uniform voting day, and that policy concerns about election integrity should be addressed by legislatures rather than courts.
Do people in the real world understand what is happening in our country right now or is it just those of us on X? I only ask because my neighbor told me she isn't interested in "politics." How do I explain that this is so far beyond "politics?" The apathy is astounding.
It is criminal that our government enabled a bat virus to infect and spread between humans. Indeed, it is hard to imagine a bigger betrayal of our species.
It is equally troubling that the mad scientists who did this then gaslit all the people of the world about it, including those who CORRECTLY interpreted the evidence.
Then, of course, the very same monsters amped up fear of the Covid frankenvirus and steered the panicked public away from safe medicines, and toward an obviously dangerous gene-therapy which they falsely called a vaccine in order to lure us into acceptance.
These are among the greatest crimes EVER committed against humanity. We now have persuasive evidence of everything I have said above.
If we don't correct the record and hold the perpetrators to account, this pattern will happen again, and again, and again--shortening our life expectancy, and degrading our quality of life each time that it does.
This is our Nuremberg moment. We can not simply move on from this ghastly chapter of history. We must finish it.
