Our goal: to provide a network for #canmedlibs (and other #medlibs) to share knowledge about literature searching and related aspects in knowledge synthesis.
There are a few more spots open for the KSIG webinar Nov 18, noon EST on "Librarians and Evidence Synthesis outside the health sciences". Register here: https://t.co/5pAzPaU73g. Presented by @amylibrarian & @mmkocher
Reporting guidelines are not methodological guidance. They tell you what decisions you need to explain in your paper - but they don't tell you what the most sensible decision would have been!
I'm curious about the ghost authorship claim. This is less than reported in previous studies. I wonder if they asked librarians how many did the search and weren't credited....
Just a reminder that @contrib_roles is a great resource if you need to define your role as part of a KS project and negotiate co-authorship https://t.co/hbkisAZeJ5
#TodayThisLibrarian signed up to learn about searching preprints as grey lit - Sarah Bonato knows her stuff! Thanks @KS_IG_ colleagues for mentioning this session during journal club last week

Forget about the stock market, invest on critical care clinical librarians for a positive return on investment (ROI) of £1.18–£3.03 for every £1 invested.

I'm currently on the @EQUATORNetwork#EQPubSchool course. It is brilliant! They teach that research publications should be SIMPLE, CLEAR and COMPLETE with this slide being one of my main take away messages from the day. On to day 2...

We need a memorable hashtag when critiquing searches in #knowledge#synthesis. Working on a letter to editors for @bmj_latest to make some recommendations about improving reported searches in support of reviews.
That's all. #medlibs#SRsearchfail
Check it out folks! Our updated methodological guidance for the conduct of scoping reviews is now published in the JBI Evidence Synthesis journal! @Daniellep89@ZacMunn@petersmdj@lynzalexander https://t.co/7BapUqhBrt
"YHEC’s study found that, even though there are slightly more sensitive filters available, the Cochrane filter... still performs very well for finding RCTs in systematic reviews and can continue to be used to capture RCTs for CENTRAL."
