Since everybody is sharing their journey, here's mine: I will be receiving my Associates degree in May 2022. I am pursuing a degree in Marketing, and I am trying to break into the tech industry. #BlackTechTwitter#BlackWomenInTech#BlackTech
Please make your 2026 VISION BOARD today.
Your brain needs 30-82 days to shift into new beliefs, thoughts, and habits.
The sooner you get started - the better ‼️
1 thing I’ve learned within tech/cybersecurity is you can’t be lazy.
You’re constantly learning, adapting, and staying curious. You can’t let up in this field.
Help desk is the best entry point into tech and everyone treats it like it’s beneath them. You’re making $40K-$50K while learning Active Directory, ticketing systems, and how corporate IT actually works. Do it for 18 months then pivot to anything. It’s paid training.
Once you stop operation from a place of lack everything changes for you.
Money is printed every day.
Opportunities are presented every day.
Jobs are posted every day.
Everything is yours for the taking.
Remember when I told yall I had to dip to accomplish a goal?
Well I passed the RHCSA exam last week!
Each time I have obtained a cert, a better job came with it.
The job is not finished yet but I’ll take the moment to celebrate this win!!
I am unstoppable.
Stop letting unhappy people convince you that you can’t find a job you love, aligned with things you’re good at, doing work you find meaningful, all while getting paid what you’re worth.
And if you’re the one convincing yourself.
Get out of your own way.
Rarely have I forgiven someone and it was worth it. Every time I have chosen to forgive someone and move forward, I have been slapped in the face with the same time type of behavior later down the line.
