We need to start asking what all this engagement is actually costing our younger generation.
Social media algorithms have been optimized for one thing: attention. And nothing gets attention like conflict, outrage and clickbait.
It doesn’t matter if the claim is true. If it makes people angry, it gets clicks. If it gets clicks, it gets amplified. And when foreign actors or outside movements can exploit that system to drive wedges between Americans, we have a serious problem.
We are creating a generation where some young people increasingly see America as the villain and their fellow Americans as the enemy.
How do we fix it?
Not through censorship. Through better incentives.
Promote patriotism. Promote critical thinking. Reward people who can have an actual debate without hatred and vindictiveness.
We need to stop rewarding the people who are best at making Americans hate each other and start rewarding the people who actually make Americans think.
The algorithm shouldn't be the thing deciding what kind of country the next generation grows up believing they live in.
I debunked every major lie about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in under 4 minutes while on Jubilee.
I don't *defend* the West, I laud and applaud it, especially in contrast to Islamism.
Please share the truth:
@ScottJenningsKY I love when people act like the solution is to ignore a problem and let it fester right up until it grows strong enough to become our problem at home. And then it's too late
@TheOfficerTatum@dbongino We always have to remember that X isn’t a real reflection of how people in the U.S. actually feel. It’s heavily influenced by foreign actors and people trying to divide and disrupt the country. However, it is distorting opinions within, and we have to push back against that.
@EliseStefanik Big thanks to her and @ZohranKMamdani for being my top business boosters. If you’re looking for a stunning new home in Boca, I’d love to help!
@EYakoby This story deserves much more attention. A massive psyop is unfolding. Bots and phone farms are faking engagement to boost divisive figures. Who’s behind it, and why? People on social media often follow what looks popular, not what’s real.
Consider this hypothetical scenario: Imagine if FSU were to defeat the highly esteemed SEC Georgia (with a backup quarterback)* and maintain an unblemished record. Meanwhile Alabama or Texas, with one loss, clinches the National Championship. Who is the best team? #FSUFootball
Elon just a thought, You have an entire collegiate fanbase angered with @ESPN/@Disney, what better way to say "GO FUCK YOURSELF" than to help @FSUFootball Leave the ACC conference and go independent with X getting the broadcasting rights. What do you say @elonmusk?
