@KentuckyHypeMan I love how everyone projects on these players. No one knows why or how it went down or what Mr. McBride thinks about it. Maybe he was all for it.
I deliver for DD sometimes to supplement my income. I’m in a rural area with a nice “hot spot” of restaurants. People who order are usually a bit far from the area, and the roads and traffic can be a pain, so I understand why they do it.
I drive an above average vehicle and always put the food in an insulated bag. I enjoy doing it everyday for lunch. Brings in an extra $600/month.
I don’t eat fastfood myself (except for pizza and Chinese) but I understand why some might do it.
@AmiriKing As someone who lives in Kentucky, I do not consider KY part of the south. In my opinion, we are hillbillies, hill folk, a sort of amalgamation of north and south. It's sort of in our history.
I like Mark Pope. I honestly believe he loves the program, the players, and the fans, even when they give him a hard time. I really want him to do well here, and I’d love for him to be here a couple more years at least to see what he can do.
It’s nice to have a coach who truly loves the school he represents. That may or may not bring high success…I hope it does.
@JamesDmichael I have two beta readers that I pulled from my mailing list. They are great. I picked one person of Fiverr who I pay who is also great. The paid person has more of a commitment to turn around things faster.
They are all very good. So, I use both free readers and one paid.
First let me say I appreciate you and think you are doing a great thing. People still very much need editors.
My small opinion is that it just depends on where you are in your career. If you are relatively new and are finding your way, then working with an editor could be great.
@TGTRTETLTI I think you have to put yourself in the character's position and "act" accordingly. Some characters are actually very dramatic. Some press their lips together and try to hide it.
Being a writer is really being an actor...but acting ALL the parts.
@SDDonovan Actually, Facebook can be easy to get followers. A lot of authors cross-follow each other and really push hard for that (like here). But they aren’t readers.
Facebook is an older crowd, which fits my demographic…that’s why I’m there. Plus, the ad system is infinitely better.
I stay on X just to have a platform here. I don’t believe anyone wants my writing advice, and I’m non-controversial. X can be entertaining, but it’s not a place where I remotely find readers.
@SDDonovan I recently started doing this (past 5 years) after using an app to do it for me. Reading aloud is the best way. Bonus points if you read it like you’re the narrator. Bad dialogue will jump at you.
