A2. I am careful to model good practices with digital products & in conversations. When talking with students about digital practices, I take the time to explain the reasons why certain practices are important. #LCPSchats
A1: With @GooseChaseEDU, students have created on-the-spot photos, videos, poems, drawings, etc. showing what they know to complete missions. These short challenges "force" creativity, lead to lots of giggles while creating, & the results are so entertaining! #LCPSchats
Can't wait to learn from my LCPS colleagues today here! Kate, LCMS, and my favorite dessert is one that combines vanilla ice-cream, peanut butter, and whipped cream. The form (sundae, shake, pie) doesn't matter! #LCPSchats
Good morning LCPS! So happy you are joining us for today's slow chat here on Twitter. No matter what time you arrive, we look forward to have to share about 5C integration. The first of 4 ?s will be posted at 9am. Meanwhile, let us know you are here! π°π¨π #LCPSchats
A2: My top 3: Using the "Priority" area of my Google Drive has helped me stay more organized when I have a lot of projects going on at once (all the time). Grouping tabs in Chrome has helped as well (pinning too). And the Clipboard History Pro extension is my new fave! #LCPSchats
A1: I would say I am a more well-rounded educator. With so many changes to how school works, I have had to learn skills I would not have had to otherwise... running virtual meetings, troubleshooting at a distance, new software, etc. #LCPSchats
There is absolutely no reason why we can't have recess for middle school students.
Open the gym, the track, the auditorium. Just let them be themselves on their own terms for a few minutes a day.
A couple less minutes from each academic class will be totally worth it.
@jns_girls_mom15 @JGrigg_LCPS I wear my #ThinkDifferently shirt with more pride than ever this year because everyone at #TeamLCPS has truly had to do that this year and we have all done it amazingly well!
@NoTechHURDles Agree! I am blown away by the creativity of our teachers! Being able to hear/see what is happening at different levels has been inspirational and while I love in-person PD, virtual sharing has opened more opportunities!
@oshundolfin @JGrigg_LCPS Yes! There has been a lot more "live" sessions offered by tech coaches across the globe since no one can travel and I have benefited from them tremendously! I would love to see some of those continue!
A3: Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook groups are the top "PD" for me this year! I β€οΈ getting quick (minute limit) ideas from TikTok plus there are a lot of funny and encouraging people there. It is not just what the news shares about it, especially for adults! #lcpschats
A2: From the perspective that my "students" are typically colleagues... this year I have tried to add video & audio elements to content I share. I prefer to read over watch a video and I have pushed my "stage-fright" and preference aside to include these things. #LCPSchats
