My #novel, "Queen Pyre Ever Screaming" is coming from @BalanceofSeven in November! A dark #SpaceOpera, it tells the stories of an ensemble of narrators - a laborer, a soldier, an addict, and others - who become truthseekers in a galaxy collapsing into war and horror. #writing
Trying to read on the drive back from CO and my little guy kept demanding "Book." Then, pondering for a little while, he would report, "Cool!"
I agree, buddy. It is pretty cool. #amreading#roadtrip#dadthings
@chrisvanjonack When you're looking up anything, you've got to specify pre-2021. Very soon, the internet will be useless for most questions we're used to asking it.
@jroberts1324 I feel like this is the kind of thing that readers and writers say, which probably isn't actually true. Especially since what counts as a "Happy" ending is debatable.
I’ve been struggling with chapters recently, and I think my protagonist went AWOL for a while. Anyone else's characters playing hard to get? #writerslife#amwriting
@timmckay52 The "Scions of Shannara" was Terry Brooks' quadrilogy that took place after the first three Shannara books. To me, this was Shannara at its best, and still remains some of the best fantasy out there.
I don't talk about it much, but I plan to continue to plug away at my little writing podcast. If you've ever got ten minutes and feel like getting some writing advice and inspiration, these short, humble episodes are here for you! https://t.co/1C91h0RKOP
I followed a bunch of writers to try and talk about writing, but now all I ever see is writers lifts and endless self-promo of the same books over and over. Y'all, it's exhausting. Please remember sincere engagement.
Guys I want to write but someone needs to watch the baby. Do you think it's hard to teach a baby dictation? He can almost consistently hold a pen when it's placed in his hand.
If I'd known early on just how important and complicated self-promotion would turn out to be for writing, I'd have double-majored in communications or something back in undergrad.
Today's new Maniaque chapter, "The Day Before Their Dying Begins," takes place the day before the MC gets stabbed in the back and another MC gets his head eaten by the #monster in the walls. I've been looking forward to it! https://t.co/NMiMmcN1rH. #fantasy#horror#novel
While bad #WritingAdvice exists, I definitely agree that you can get something out of it! Use every piece of feedback you get to take on a new perspective of your work and how people may see it. @KTalksWriting#WritingCommunity#Author
In today's Maniaque update, "The Beacon in the Haze," Indirk gets a reality check that maybe an old friend has always been a bit more suspicious than she wants to remember. The #fantasy#horror novel can be read online anytime! https://t.co/NMiMmcN1rH
