Your Vacuum Cleaner Became an EU Matter

I talked to my mother yesterday. She is 84 and told me she had bought a new vacuum cleaner. She wanted one with at least 1600 watts, like her old one.

The man in the store told her those don’t exist anymore. In 2017, the EU decided that no vacuum cleaner may have a motor above 900 watts. Everything above 1600 was already banned in 2014.

My mother never asked the EU for permission. Neither did you. But the decision was made for both of you.

The justification was the climate. The EU wanted to save energy, and millions of vacuum cleaners times many watts sounds like a lot. So they banned the powerful models. They didn’t inform. They didn’t label. They banned.

And then we were told we wouldn’t notice the difference. That 900 watts cleans just as well as 1600.

That is not my experience. I have used both, and there is a world of difference. But you don’t have to take my word for it. The claim was based on laboratory tests where vacuum cleaners were measured with an empty bag - a showroom illusion no one experiences at home, because suction drops as the bag fills up.

Dyson sued the EU on exactly this point. And in 2018, the EU Court ruled in their favor: the testing method was misleading, and the energy label was annulled. The EU’s own proof that you lost nothing didn’t hold up in the EU’s own court.

So what did we get out of it?

The EU’s own figures say the rule saved around 11.7 TWh of electricity in 2020. That sounds massive, but it amounts to less than half a percent of the EU’s electricity consumption.

And mind you, that is the EU’s own calculation, measured against the EU’s own guess at how big vacuum cleaners would have been without the rule. There is no independent measurement.

And CO2? The EU accounts for 6-7 percent of the world’s total emissions. That share shrinks year by year, while China and India build new coal plants. Even if the entire EU hit zero emissions tomorrow, it would barely register on the global curve. A vacuum cleaner rule that moves fractions of those 6-7 percent means nothing for the climate in the big picture.

But it means something for you.

You pay with your freedom of choice. My mother cannot buy the vacuum cleaner she wants. You pay with bureaucracy, control, and testing regimes. And you pay with the principle: that Brussels can regulate what you keep in your utility closet.

Here comes the objection, every time: “But if all the small players say they don’t matter, nothing ever happens.”

Fine. Then show me that it works. The EU has pursued this policy for over a decade. Global emissions have risen anyway - because the growth happens in China and India, far beyond Brussels’ reach. We bought the symbol. Not the result.

And that is the mechanism you need to see. Each individual intervention is “small”. The sum is called “necessary”. By that logic, you can justify regulating almost anything in your home.

The problem is not that people care about the climate. The problem is that the concern has become a blank check to regulate citizens’ lives with no measurable effect. The power grows. The freedom shrinks. The climate doesn’t change because of it.

Had he been deported, Tommie would still be alive.

We had the better version the whole time. It says baa.

Putin’s bet.

Zelensky is losing the war - but not to Russia on the battlefield. He is losing it to Ukrainians in the rear.

Hatred toward Zelensky is growing daily. His real support is around 10%. These are the people profiting from the war.

Ukrainians are increasingly uniting to resist Zelensky’s manhunters. We know he pays $300–500 for each man caught and that no one will protect us.

As a result, more horizontal networks are forming to oppose the central government.

These groups have no leaders Zelensky can arrest or kill. They are united by one idea: survive and avoid fighting in Zelensky’s war for Western money.

These sentiments are almost impossible to stop.

Putin knows this - and sees it as one of the clearest signs that Russia is winning Ukraine.

Zelensky is ruthless towards our population. At the same time, no one can understand why Putin is being so soft on Ukraine.

I hope everyone will read Dave Ramsey’s comments about going cashless. It’s a two minute read. No one has explained it better. He brings up several situations I'd never considered.

I took this picture of my receipt in my beautiful town Kerrville Texas. I support this and I can see how this could affect our kids by having gaps in work ethic, financial literacy, and community connection.

A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. * All your movements & actions are traceable.
* Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords.
* You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every dollar in your possession.
* The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase.
* If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.

Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence.

If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash.

Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas.
Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice.

What we uncovered proves ANTIFA is not just an idea. It is a network of real people organizing, coordinating, and operating inside America.

Inside the group's Signal chats, members discussed plans for port blockades, riot activity, support networks for criminal defendants, and celebrated acts of political violence. Using names, profile photos, and digital receipts, OMG traced individuals to positions throughout some of America's most influential organizations.

The same network connected to disruptive port blockades in New Jersey was also active during the unrest surrounding Delaney Hall, where activists confronted law enforcement and journalists outside the immigration detention facility.

Among those identified were an engineer affiliated with @OpenAI & @OpenAINewsroom, an AI Automation Leader at T-Mobile, Rutgers University students and personnel, a Princeton doctoral candidate, a former New Jersey congressional candidate and city councilman, board members connected to the American Civil Liberties Union, and National Lawyers Guild, and nonprofit executives with ties to United Nations-affiliated initiatives.

Some messages in the Signal chats showed these individuals celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination and hoped that the past attempts on President Trump were successful.

The American people deserve to know when individuals involved in activist networks also hold positions within institutions that shape public policy, technology, education, and culture.

These are not simply anonymous individuals organizing online. OMG identified numerous individuals and organizations connected to members of the NJ BURN network and reached out to them for comment. We will update our reporting with any responses we receive.

The identities referenced in this report are based on evidence gathered during our investigation, including social media activity, public records, and other corroborating information. Some identifications remain unknown, and additional information may emerge following publication.
