@MWaltniel@OfficeInsider Thx for feedback Matthias. I am Engineering Manager and work for Microsoft. We need admin permission because we want users to be in control of their device security (app allows full control of device). We are planning updates which will remove shortcut to old app.
@Telescuffle@OfficeInsider Thx for feedback Sam. I am Engineering Manager and work for Microsoft. You should be able to do this. Use old app to remote in, install store app and ask your parents to use the new one from here on. We are releasing an update to store where shortcut to old app will be removed.
@jmbainbridge@OfficeInsider Re 'have any of you (MS) actually tried talking a user through all this on the phone?' Thx for this feedback. we are listening and responding as fast as we can. 4/4
@jmbainbridge@OfficeInsider Re 'existing shortcuts stop working' and 'users now have 2 apps when they search'. We have fix for updating shortcuts. We are releasing v2.0.6.0 - pls look out for an update via Microsoft store. 3/4
@jmbainbridge@OfficeInsider Why do users need admin rights to install a new app? Quick Assist store app allows helpers to take full control of user's device. We think it's important for users to be in control of what gets installed on their device from a security and privacy perspective. 2/4
@jmbainbridge@OfficeInsider Thx for this feedback Sir James. I am Engineering Manager for Quick Assist App and work for Microsoft. We will be updating the existing app soon. The reason we chose Microsoft Store is because it allows us to send security updates faster. 1/4
