KU T&F: @kansastfxc’s Emmah Jemutai becomes Kansas’ first Women’s Outdoor Big 12 Performer of the Year since Sharon Lokedi won the award in 2017.
Jemutai recently won the 800 and 1,500 meter titles at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, marking the first time since 2001 that an individual won both events in the same year.
She also becomes the first back-to-back Big 12 1,500 meter champion since 2007-08 and Kansas’ first women’s outdoor 800 meter champion in Big 12 history.

Emmah Jemutai was named the 2026 Big 12 Outdoor Women’s Performer of the Year after an incredible championship weekend! She becomes the fourth Jayhawk ever to win the award and the first since Sharon Lokedi in 2017!

KU Baseball: Fitzgerald is the first back-to-back Big 12 Coach of the Year since Augie Garrido did so at Texas in 2010 and 2011.
Fitzgerald is also the first @KUBaseball coach in program history to be named a coach of the year in two separate seasons.
KU SB: The Jayhawks win their first game in the Norman Regional, marking @KUSoftball's first win in the NCAA Tournament since defeating Indiana State, 2-0, in 2015.
KU Baseball: Kansas broke two school records in Thursday's 9-6 victory at BYU.
The Jayhawks now have 21 conference wins and 512 strikeouts as a pitching staff. The previous records were 20 conference wins in 2025 and 510 strikeouts in 2018.
It's the first inside-the-park HR by a Jayhawk since Chase Jans at Belmont on March 5, 2023 and the first at Hoglund Ballpark since KU’s Devin Foyle on March 16, 2016 vs. Murray State.
It was the first in conference play for Kansas since Gus Milner on April 9, 2005 at Oklahoma.
KU T&F: @kansastfxc senior Anthony Meacham wins his third @Big12Conference Outdoor Athlete of the Week award, becoming the first Big 12 men’s outdoor track and field athlete to earn three weekly awards in a season.

KU SB: @KUSoftball senior Hailey Cripe becomes Kansas' first Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year in program history.
Cripe has started every game for Kansas at shortstop this season, with just four errors on 98 assists and 85 putouts on 187 total chances, with a career-high season fielding percentage of 97.9%.
KU Baseball: Kansas is one of four teams nationally to have multiple double-digit winning streaks this season.
