Some interesting notes about candidates in tonight's election.

This is interesting. We may have 2 elections tonight where the majority of candidates haven’t filed with the Virginia Department of Elections. As of 4pm, only 4 combined Republicans and Democrats out of the 10 running have filed their paperwork. But none were left off the ballot.

And we have a winner … same winner as Election Night. Lunenburg Sheriff Arthur Townsend wins the recount 1844-1811 and will serve another term in office.

Stepping away from District 9 for a minute but staying in Lunenburg. The recount continues today in the Lunenburg County sheriff’s race.

For anyone wondering about the second candidate in the District 9 Democratic primary, Gary Miller released a statement last night. Miller and Trudy Berry are the only confirmed candidates in the race so far. Voting starts at 6pm tonight.

UPDATE: If you’re a Pittsylvania County or Danville Democrat, your polling place for tonight’s District 9 primary has been changed. It’s not Frank’s Pizza anymore.
Instead, you’re voting at:
Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. That’s at 581 Fairview Road in Chatham.
