As debris burning activity increases, be sure you are doing it right! Clear all flammable vegetation at least 10 ft around your burn pile down to bare mineral soil. That means removing grass, leaves, pine needles, and anything else that can carry fire. Extra prep goes a long way.

Suspect Arrested on Suspicion of Starting the Tiger Fire in August 2025

Yesterday, CAL FIRE AEU Law Enforcement Officers arrested Jacob Heitz, 37, of Pine Grove, on suspicion of starting the Tiger Fire in Amador County on August 8, 2025. Details below.
