Gusty north to east winds will develop today through Monday across interior northern California. This, combined with low humidity will bring critical fire weather conditions to the Valley/Delta. Plan ahead for the gusty conditions! #CAwx
As debris burning activity increases, be sure you are doing it right! Clear all flammable vegetation at least 10 ft around your burn pile down to bare mineral soil. That means removing grass, leaves, pine needles, and anything else that can carry fire. Extra prep goes a long way.
Thunderstorms are sometimes underestimated as a serious weather threat, but they can be deadly. Strong winds can turn ordinary objects into dangerous projectiles, and lightning can strike up to 10 miles away from a storm. #WeatherReady
