Buc-ee's isn't a gas station.
It's a monument to American excess.
You stop for gas and somehow leave with a brisket sandwich, a bag of beaver nuggets, beef jerky, a Yeti cooler, a cast iron skillet, three t-shirts, and enough snacks to survive a minor apocalypse.
The bathrooms are cleaner than most hospitals.
The brisket is chopped fresh in front of you.
The drink selection is measured in acres.
And the parking lot looks like someone accidentally built an airport in rural Texas. It’s genuinely shocking when you first see the line of gas pumps
What makes Buc-ee's great isn't the food.
It's the ambition.
Somebody looked at a normal gas station and said:
"What if we made it 10 times bigger, 10 times cleaner, 10 times friendlier, and sold literally everything?"
That's America.
Not doing the minimum.
Not making things smaller.
Not apologizing for success.
Building something so ridiculously over-the-top that people drive an extra hour just to experience it.
European tourists spend years dreaming about seeing the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and New York City.
Then they accidentally discover Buc-ee's and spend 45 minutes taking pictures of a convenience store.
Because deep down they know they're witnessing something special.
A place where a man can buy diesel fuel, smoked brisket, hunting gear, fudge, a swimsuit, and a 64-ounce Moutain Dew in one stop.
If you drive past a Buc-ee's without stopping, you're missing one of the great modern American cultural experiences.
The Founding Fathers didn't cross the Delaware for this.
But they'd probably appreciate the brisket.
“It is funny when Europeans say, ‘We can spot Americans from a mile away’. Yeah no shit dude, we can do the same with you. You’re wearing umbros and a gucci shirt that’s like a size small… and you have a purse” -Big Cat
BREAKING: Even by the government's own, most flattering measures, inflation is moving the wrong way. The headline index rose 4.2% over the 12 months ending in May, up from 3.8% a month earlier — accelerating, not cooling.
Energy is up 23.5% on the year, gasoline 40.5%, fuel oil 58.9%, electricity 5.9%. These are massive numbers.
Groceries are up 3.1%, fresh fruits and vegetables 6.1%, shelter 3.4%.
And the 2.9% "core" figure everyone cites as proof the fever has broken — which gets there by stripping out food & energy, i.e., two things no household can stop buying — is likewise running hot.
These numbers should be setting off alarm bells in the White House.
@RapidResponse47 POTUS needs to stop giving people like Stephen A Smith and Joe Scarborough attention by posting about them. The majority of people literally do not care about these guys. Stop giving them a spotlight.
@MaryAnnreports Karmelo Anthony’s parents didn’t go back into the courtroom to hear the sentencing or victim impact statements. Clear as day how this young man became a cowardly murderer. God Bless Austin’s parents
Austin Metcalf's dad, Jeff, just unloaded on Karmelo Anthony.
"We were robbed, don't look down, of all of these things."
"I said from day one, this was never about race, please don't politicize it. But what did you choose to do, both. It's about right and wrong. We're all humans. We all bleed the same color.
"You're free to make choices all you want, but you're not free from those consequences. You will face those consequences starting today."
"People think that grief is sadness but its not. IT"S RAGE!!! (slamming his hands on the table.) Pure unfiltered rage,' he shouts.
"You failed your parents, your failed yourself and you failed society, You don't belong in this community," he says to Karmelo.
"You're going to prison, You can't even look me in the eyes right now but you can stab my fu**ing son in the heart."
Deshaun Watson is now the longest tenured offensive player on the Browns. Think about how bad that trade is... Literally no offensive player is left on the roster from before the trade.
This was outside the Karmelo Anthony trial after he was found guilty for first-degree murder
Just look at this…. These people want to start a race fight sooooo bad. Only one side taunts and acts like this
A black kid kills a white kid and somehow it’s will turned around where they taunt white people
Karmelo Anthony could get up to 99 years in prison. I hope he gets 99 years in prison
“So a bunch of idiots donated $600,000 to you for your legal defense?”
Das right, Dave.
“And your family spent it all on bottles of Hennessy, jars of Kool-Aid pineapples, two new Cadillac Escalades, and rented a million dollar home?”
Uh huh.
“So you ended up with a third-rate defense team, and you were found guilty of first degree murder in less than three hours?”
Sho’ nuff, Dave.
It’s important to keep reminding people that this was NOT an all white jury.
Five people on the jury were minorities.
The back population in Collin County is only 12%.
Those black potential jurors were unable to set aside their partisanship and were rejected to serve on the jury.
