Today, while volunteering at the shelter and walking my row of dogs, I noticed a different dog in another row sitting quietly in the corner of her kennel… shaking and trying to make herself as small as possible.
I looked at her kennel card and learned her name was Hazel and she had just been surrendered yesterday . 😭💔
I decided to go sit with her, hoping I could make her day just a little bit better.
Little did I know…
she would be the one making mine.🥹
Hazel was terrified and unsure of everyone around her. But little by little, she found the courage to take one step… then another… until she came over, kissed my face, and reminded me just how sweet she truly is.
I later learned that Hazel was surrendered because the family cat repeatedly attacked her. 🥺 And through no fault of her own, she lost the only home she knew.
Hazel is only 2 years old. She’s dog-friendly, good with kids, housebroken, and crate-trained. She has so much love to give, yet tonight she’s sleeping in a shelter kennel instead of a home.
I spent a long time with her today, holding her close and reminding her that she is a good girl… that she is loved, that she is seen, and that someone still cares about her.
Before I closed her kennel door, I made Hazel a promise..
I promised her I would share her story with the world.
And I told her that I have an incredible village of people who always show up when a dog needs them most.
Now I’m asking that village for one more favor.
Please help me keep my promise to Hazel. 🥺🙏🏻😭

In late September 1981, a ranch dog in Meeteetse, Wyoming named Shep caught something in the night. By morning it was dead beside his food bowl. John Hogg looked at it, figured it was probably a mink, and tossed it into the weeds along the river.

His wife Lucille fished it back out. She wanted it mounted.

The taxidermist recognized it immediately. It was a black-footed ferret, a species many scientists believed had disappeared. The last known captive animals had died a couple of years earlier. Wildlife biologists descended on Meeteetse and found a small wild colony nearby.

For a few years, the ferret had a second chance.

Then disease struck. Canine distemper swept through the population, and plague devastated the prairie dog colonies the ferrets depended on for food. By 1987 the species was collapsing. Scientists scrambled to capture every remaining ferret before the last wild population vanished.

Eighteen ferrets became the founders of the captive breeding program. Only seven successfully produced offspring. Every black-footed ferret alive today traces its ancestry back to those seven individuals.

One of the eighteen, a female named Willa, never reproduced. She died in January 1988. But tissue from Willa had been sent to the San Diego Zoo's Frozen Zoo, a cryogenic library preserving cells from more than a thousand species. Her genes were absent from the breeding population, and someone had the foresight to save them anyway.

For more than three decades, no one knew whether those cells would ever matter. Then they figured out what to do with them.

In December 2020, a cloned black-footed ferret named Elizabeth Ann was born from Willa's frozen cells, carried by a domestic ferret surrogate. She became the first cloned endangered species native to the United States.

Willa's genome contains nearly three times the unique genetic variation found in the average living ferret. Elizabeth Ann isn't just a scientific curiosity. She represents a potential lifeline for a population so inbred that nearly every animal is related.

The species got a second chance twice.

First from a ranch dog that caught something in the dark and a woman who didn't want to throw it away.

Then from the decision to freeze the cells of a ferret that had never had offspring, on the chance that someone, someday, might need them.

SHARIA CITY SHUT DOWN

Dubai-backed developers had big plans for thousands of acres in rural Kaufman County Texas.

The project was pitched as a sustainable city that could house up to twenty thousand foreign nationals.

Texas AG Ken Paxton launched an investigation into the foreign-linked proposal.

The developers have now confirmed they are walking away from the Kaufman site.

Paxton stated he is glad they ceased operations and that his office will keep ending any illegal schemes that try to subvert the Constitution.

This is what happens when a state actually enforces its laws and protects local resources instead of rolling out the welcome mat for foreign influence.

One set of rules for everyone. No special carve-outs.

It's important to understand what cancer is. Cancer is a micro infestation of parasites. Parasites consume the glycoprotein in your cells while procreating, defecating, and urinating in the cells, killing the cell. They then disperse to go attack other cells.

A tumor is your body's response wherein the body encapsulates the area that's infested in order to protect you. NEVER allow a doctor to perform a biopsy on a tumor! If the tumor is in an accessible area, just have it removed. If you biopsy the tumor, you are breaking the bio-dome your body made and releasing the parasites into your bloodstream and lymph nodes. This will spread them into other areas of the body...ie "metastasized".
