@DrewFranklinKSR After the red card our formation immediately changed to 4-4-1 with Pulisic up top. We didn’t sit back defensively but kept cautiously pressing. The boys adapted on the fly and got the new plan and remained confident. Appropriate subs were made. Absolute masterclass of coaching.
Just a reminder that USMNT striker Folarin Balogun received a red card after a VAR check on this challenge.
Earlier in the tournament, Lionel Messi didn’t get a yellow card or even a VAR check for a similar challenge.

@HiMyNameIsSeton I don’t speak Spanish but I’m watching the Spanish broadcasts on peacock. I just didn’t want to buy a new app. I didn’t anticipate loving it as much as I am. I focus on the game more and the announcers are like the hype tracks.
@HiMyNameIsSeton@SheaSerrano I think it would rarely happen. Almost always one team feels they have the advantage and would not give it up to the coin flip of PK’s.
@StevenPeakeKSR The irony in this is that Algeria was eliminated from the 1982 World Cup in a similar situation involving Austria and West Germany. Look up the “Disgrace of Gijon”. It will be very interesting how that game plays out tomorrow.
@StevenPeakeKSR Stoppage time was 7 and they scored at 7:54. I reffed KY high school soccer for years. We stop the clock for stoppages and start it again when we resume. The time on the clock is always the time left in the game like every other sport. Stoppage time makes no sense.
@FreddyLA7 Freddy how would you feel about getting rid of stoppage time in soccer and just having the clock stop and start like every other sport so when the game ends is not a subjective decision by the referee?
@StevenPeakeKSR Algeria and Austria Saturday will be interesting. The winner of that game gets Spain and loser gets Canada. They’ll both be trying to lose.
@Bertold_K@SykesCharlie I’m thinking of my old college friend, Lee from Hungary right now. Thomas More College 1997. I hope he sees this and reaches out to me.
