I don’t know about you, but the government didn’t recognize me as a living human being until I had a birth certificate. Can you imagine trying to get a social security number for an unborn child? Yeah. Good luck with that.

What we have, now, is a situation where a physician can look at a woman who has been recognized by the U.S. government as a human being-who also likely has a birth certificate and a social security number-who is going to die without a life saving procedure, who is carrying a baby without a heartbeat…..never to be issued a birth certificate, or be recognized as a human being by the Social Security Administration- and the government also says “This woman whose life we do recognize? Yeah, we’ll have to let her die, so we don’t offend evangelicals regarding the now deceased baby that we would never even have recognized as a human being…until a birth certificate had been signed…even if the baby DID have a heartbeat.”

Make this make sense. Wait. Stop. You can’t.
