I'm not the type to make a public complaint like that, but I feel like the reception of French on SynthV has been horrible and I have to say something.
People are acting as if French was just invented and it's really just invalidating all of the communties work...

I want French support in SynthV to succeed. It's an amazing thing.
But I also want people to remember that French vocal synthesis did not begin with commercial support.
It survived because a passionate community kept building it.

I hope years of work won't just fade away

I’m so happy to finally see French supported in a vocal synth software like SynthV. To me, it's the first time it's supported in a truly mainstream commercial vsynth software.

But, I have complicated feelings reading tweets like “we can finally make vsynths sing in French now!”

There are many UTAUs and Diffsingers that can sing in french thanks to UFR and many others.
French has been available for over 16 years for UTAU (Kyann's first french VB was relased way back in 2010)

One of my biggest fears now is that this history could disappear.
