In 2024, Lamar was our first recipient of our Mrs. Mary Gibbs Scholarship . Who is Mrs. Gibbs? She was one of the first people I met when the organization started . I vividly remember receiving a message from a family member in 2016, informing us that Mrs. Gibbs' neighbor was overcharging her for lawn care. I went over to mow her lawn, and she was pleasantly surprised to learn it was free. From that day on, I regularly mowed her lawn. Over time, we grew close, and I affectionately called her my adopted grandmother, as both of my grandmothers had passed away by then. She will always be remembered . To honor her memory we made a scholarship in her name for kids in the program .

We will be giving 5, $1,000 scholarships away this year to kids that have completed our 50 yard challenge . Next year we hope to make it 10.

All applications will be sent to Mrs. Gibbs family who will sign off .
