#ArtifactFriday: Old Fort Harrod 📸

Last fall, the park received a donation dating to July 1928. Taken during a family vacation, these pics offer a look at the replica fort just one year after its completion.

At the time, the park was called Pioneer Memorial SP.

I always LOVE visiting Kenlake State Resort Park.. the lodge, which opened in 1952 was originally called the Kenlake Hotel.

It’s one of my favorite lodges and parks in the KY Park System. I can’t explain it, but it always makes you feel so comfortable and at home.

🐍 Watch & learn! An unexpected visitor at last week’s monarch tagging event at Perryville Battlefield SHS gave #KyStateParks State Naturalist Robert Myers a chance to talk about the benefits of snakes & the importance of giving wildlife space when you encounter it.

Kentucky Dam Village - Calvert City, KY
Perry & Press Maxwell, 1952

This is another strong course for KY’s state park system. A few standout holes, with mixes of dramatic land and updated greens that Perry would be proud of. The back nine is full of long, challenging golf.
