This construction site is the future location of the @kyhumane Society Animal & Community Campus which held its groundbreaking today. It’ll be a five plus acre space right off Preston Highway that will bring all of KHS’s programs and services together in one space.
When it opens in summer of 2027, it’ll house a low-cost veterinary clinic, offer 30% more space for cats and dogs and create a lasting impact in our community.

When state and federal nutrition assistance was paused in November 2025, @kyhumane knew the impact would spread to pets—and quickly worked with supporters such as @humaneworldorg and @Chewy to create a pet food bank. 🐾

📈 Within 48 hours of opening, the pet food bank received more than 1,000 requests for pet food assistance. It's now a permanent fixture at KHS's Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center.
