It's a great time to be a young lawyer, unless you want to do criminal law. With legal aid rates rising roughly 10% IN 25 YEARS, the criminal bar can not compete with these wages. The inexorable drain of talent will continue, and without immediate intervention, we are doomed.

Over 60 participants via zoom, and another 11 in the office, for our Tamil language Rwanda drop in session this afternoon. Solidarity with those being impacted by this and the fear they are facing, having had to flee their homeland already.
We are poised to assist any clients or potential new clients with any urgent matters arising from the Rwanda policy, including detentions and removal directions. Please note our emergency hotline is available 24 hours 0141 375 7559.
We understand that our clients are rightfully worried about the Rwanda plan and so we are setting up drop in information sessions for anyone worried or with any questions about how it will affect them. More details to follow.

🔥 @HumzaYousaf eviscerates Douglas Ross’ hypocrisy on the NHS.
His UK Tory government imposed a 3% cut on England’s NHS and had weeks of strikes.
In Scotland, the SNP has just increased the NHS budget in real terms and there’s not been a single day lost to strikes.
