As a Northerner, I still don’t understand our obsession with having a Northerner as President, even when the last Northern President who spent 8 years in charge of Nigeria left so much to be desired.
I would have at least understood the criticism and hate tweets directed at Tinubu if we had given Buhari the same energy when he was in power. But we didn’t. We kept quiet for 8 years because Buhari, a Northerner, was in charge.
So why are we suddenly pretending to care so much about good governance only when the President is from the South?

I think the most misunderstood verse in the Bible is Romans 8:28.
We quote it as a comfort verse.
But it is actually one of the boldest declarations in scripture.
It does not say God will make everything comfortable.
It says He will make everything work together for good.
That means the betrayal is working.
The loss is working.
The delay is working.
The pain is working.
All of it.
Simultaneously.
Toward something good.
The Bible told us where Noah's Ark landed. 4,000 years later, they're drilling right there.
Genesis 8:4: "The ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat."
This week, scientists started drilling into a 515-foot, boat-shaped formation in the mountains of Ararat in eastern Turkey. Radar scans show angular walls, a central corridor, and three levels underground. Genesis 6:16 says the ark had three decks.
The right place. The right shape. The right size. The right number of decks.
Skeptics said the Hittites never existed, until their capital was dug up. They said Pontius Pilate was a legend, until his name turned up carved in stone. They said King David was a myth, until an ancient inscription named "the house of David."
Every time, the ground ends up agreeing with the Bible.
The Ark was real. The Flood was real. God's Word was always true.
"A pastor said something today that really hit me: you have to learn how to be at peace in the place you're in, even when it's not the place you prayed for, until God leads you into the next one."
