Yes you are correct you don’t “have to pay to play” by week 2 people will have maxed builds and unless you buy VC to keep up you will get stomped. Meanwhile you struggling to get to 88 OVR . Builds are 100% more expensive now. Sounds like your a paid promotion to defend 2ks BS.

It’s time we tell the truth! Builds in 2K aren’t actually more expensive now—it’s actually cheaper than it was 6 years ago. Here’s why:

3.But money is worth less now due to inflation—about 30% less.

This means:

•You’re paying the same number of dollars for VC.
•But those dollars are worth less than they were in 2017.
•So you’re actually spending less valuable money for the same amount of VC.

It’s like if a candy bar cost $1 in 1960 and still costs $1 today. The price tag is the same, but that dollar is worth less now, so the candy is effectively cheaper. All the complaints about high prices do not match the facts—they contradict them. It’s simply made up.

Some of you guys may argue, “Well, 99 is more expensive!” Well, no, it’s not. In NBA 2K18 and 19, you couldn’t even buy 99—now you can. And in 2K20, you had to keep playing to get 99 and could lose it, so you might never actually reach it. Also, just by playing to get 99, you earn all the VC you need if you save it, so you essentially don’t have to pay anything. Those are the facts—the rest is just feelings.
