@cobbo3 With such weapons, one can be sure he will be President for life. Tractors and computers would empower our people which is dangerous for the status quo. An empowered African will never worship a politician and that is anathema to the "ruling" class.

There’s a weapons exhibition at the Russia-Africa summit, and "our people", of course, were happy to get a feel for them. The likelihood that they would have been less excited to try out tractors and computers, pretty much sums up why we are where we are.
