But his fatwa seems to declare crypto haram for other reasons too: uncertainty, speculation, lack of proper legal recognition, and whether it is even accepted as real wealth in Islamic law.

True to a certain extent. When religion is reduced to only legalism, without beauty, spirituality, poetry, art, or inner refinement, you naturally produce people who can quote texts but can’t read the world.
