Sri Lanka has gone to the IMF over 15 times and followed IMF directions. This has not led to sustainable solutions because politicians and governments never followed up with their own plans or reforms thereafter.
This time we should think differently and out of the box.

This time we should develop our own Reform Program and Revival Plan and then have a dialog with the public and get the public engaged in the discussion and get their buy in. Then we should go to IMF and convince them for their support. Countries such as Lebanon or Zambia failed
