Marketing yourself as a techie is hard like very hard, I know some of the maddest engineers just talking on non tech related things the whole day you cant believe they can do, its like we are taught to be modest somewhere in the CS course , , imposter syndrome be end of us
What struck me the most wasn’t even the fact that he didn’t have to warm up, It was the small moment when he looked beside him and realized everyone else had already gone, a moment that lasted only a few seconds, yet it tells a story that took an entire lifetime to write, because that kind of respect is not given, It is earned through years of sacrifice, discipline, heartbreak, and an obsession with being better every single day.
It comes from the countless training sessions nobody watched, the injuries nobody truly understood, the pressure of carrying the expectations of millions, and the criticism that followed every moment you failed to meet impossible standards, people see the trophies, the records, the individual awards, and the standing ovations, they see the finished masterpiece, but very few take time to appreciate the years of struggle that created it.
Imagine being a young boy with a dream so big that it seemed almost impossible, leaving behind comfort, facing uncertainty, fighting your way through doubts, setbacks, and people who questioned whether you could ever make it, then spending over two decades at the very highest level of a sport where one bad game can make the world forget everything you’ve achieved.
To reach a point where your own coach looks at the bench and tells everyone to get ready, but allows you to remain seated because he understands what you have given to the badge, the country, and the game itself that is not favoritism, it is the highest form of trust, a respect built brick by brick over years of proving yourself, and the beauty of the moment was his reaction. There was no arrogance, no sense of entitlement, no “of course I’m different.” He was so focused on the match that he didn’t even notice everyone had left his side.
That, in itself, is another lesson about true greatness, the greatest people often understand how much they have achieved, but they never stop respecting the process that brought them there, the truth is, becoming great is one of the hardest journeys a person can choose, it requires sacrificing normal experiences, enduring loneliness, accepting criticism, and continuing to work even after you have already reached the summit.
Many people dream of being special, very few are willing to pay the price that comes with becoming special, because greatness is not built on the day the world finally applauds you, greatness is built in the silent mornings, the exhausting nights, the tears after failure, the decisions to keep going when quitting would have been easier.
So when you see a moment like that, don’t just see a player sitting while others warm up, see the years of dedication, the battles fought, the weight carried, and the legacy created,
That kind of respect cannot be asked for, It can only be earned.
As a man, normalise a boring life. Go to bed early. Read long books. Drink tea. Regulate your nervous system. Spend time alone. Go for walks without headphones. Eat simple food. Shrink your circle. Turn down the noise.
July 2024… pale Ranch House Bistro -Naivasha for lunch and this G Wagon parked next to us… we admired the car .. made a resolution with my wife that we must own one…
Almost 2 years later…
Tomorrow I make the big reveal. 🙏🙏
God has been faithful.
The Cons:
1. The engines run hot,So coolant hoses & flanges which are plastic get brittle & crack over time. It’s best you have an experienced mech who will be on top of that. When properly replaced you can run well without losing any coolant for too long.
2.The dry clutch gearbox mechatronic will fail at some point. So have around 60k when that happens. The complete gb doesn’t fail,Just the unit/TCU. This can fail at your first year of ownership or even the 5th year depending on previous ownership.
3. Bad fuel can mess your coils & plugs so also prepare for that.
4. While the engines are reliable,The peripherals have parts that will need replacement over time. The PCV valve,Timing chain will wear out & your waterpump will leak at some point. Your mech can identify this & do the job well. These happen over hundreds of thousands kms.
I think I’ve been open about my friendship with @HonAllanChesang for quite some time now. We’ve been friends even before he became Senator. I posted this video on my TikTok account two months ago, that’s how open I am about it. We always hang out & exchange ideas on matters concerning Trans Nzoia & ICT in general. We differ sometimes politically & despite me working with Governor Natembeya for some time, we still remained friends. Allan is my boy & I have no apologies for that buana. But as always, mumus who just joined X the other day wants to overthrow me in my position as the leader of Walala Hoii bcoz they can't fathom how a Peasant rat can hangout with the big boys,, my friend hii maisha ni kujipanga. Chesaa!!🌚
