I love these new video resources by @ACONhealth on how to compassionately respond to disclosures of sexual violence, and how to support loved ones. It was great to have been a part of the consultative process with other amazing lived experience advocates.

Proud to have been one of the lived experience experts consulted for this report. It really sheds light on how many people are effected by eating disorders in Australia and just what it can cost for some.
1.1 million Australians are now living with an eating disorder & the economic & social cost of eating disorders grew to $67 billion. We need further investment into eating disorders to resolve this public health crisis. Read more ⬇️

Just found out that I missed out on the next round of PhD scholarships due to one of my twenty minor supporting documents uploading incorrectly. Bureaucracy will be the death of me.
@autiewarrior I applaud you for making such a difficult decision. I've been grappling with this myself as I prepare my PhD application. It's so sad that we even have to pick - between a career we know we could contribute greatly or our basic wellbeing and survival.
Did anyone else make friends with one or two people in every single 'clique' at school thinking 'I can get along with anyone' - only to realise later on, you likely had just befriended all the neurodivergent people in your grade?
@wizardsofautism I've always disliked showers. There's too much noise, too much running sensations and I'm sensitive to hot water - then add a bunch of cleaning steps on top of that. Ick. But I love baths.
@HumanbeingAwk It isn't entirely 'resolved' but I have managed to significantly reduce the symptoms so it isn't destroying my life through lots of therapy, trauma-work, DBT skills and avoiding significant 'triggers' (e.g., romantic relationships).
I often wish my parents had given me a more Māori name - but when stuff like this comes out, I am reminded that having an 'English-sounding' name has likely benefited me in many situations, which is kind of sad.
@eleaud Maybe a range of 250-500 words a day? It gives you a higher number to aim for but accommodates the real possibility that sometimes you just don't have the time, energy or inspiration to write 500 words and that when it's one of 'those days', 250 words is still an achievement.
@MsBRosser I wrote my MRes thesis in 2020 and it was mentally and emotionally traumatising for me. When I was finished, everyone was congratulating me but I was so exhausted and dejected and didn't even want to hear or talk about it. I wanted to forget it had even happened.
