Let’s take a step back. Costs are high. They’re not going down. We have to acknowledge and accept that fact and move on. If the National tours can help with this let’s try this for a bit to see if we can help.

No more races $100,000 to win as one day show.
No one day shows over $20,000 to win.
For a while….

Let’s take this money and do two things with it to help all teams and get more cars back to the race track.

$10,000 to win and $2,000 to start. Same payoff for the promoter we’re just adjusting the money.

Non transfer payoff $1,500 for the first non transfer and a payoff on back. Let’s keep the teams happy that’s coming to the track that’s just getting tow money for a national event. Everybody leaves with money they can sometimes not all the time afford to come back to the next show. Our car counts could be in the 40/50’s and everybody leaves with money and the same purse so that it doesn’t cost the promoter anymore money.

I promise the race teams this. If we do this at the National level I will work hard to do this as much as possible on our regional series where more people leave with money. We know the cost isn’t changing. We’ve beat a dead horse to death with that and the “blame game” etc.

I think I honestly if you poll the majority of the race teams not the top tier teams only but everyday and weekend warrior racers they would agree we need to just spread it out. We don’t need 75 huge paying events each year. 20 tops.

This isn’t a jab at anyone. I promise you that. We all have to do our part. Does this fix the issue we have as a sport? No. Does it help some? I honestly think yes. Let’s try it. What do we have to lose.

Do I have the answers? No. Do we have a problem? Yes. Just trying to help with solutions instead of complaining about it.
