This is a math class this morning at @MIT. This is the state of learning and ‘free speech’ at our top universities. It would not be happening without a failure leadership at MIT.
Imagine being a student who borrowed $250k to attend MIT or a professor who is trying to do research in this environment.
"Students shouldn't go out into life without the ability to communicate.
Your success in life will be determined largely by...
-your ability to speak,
-your ability to write, &
-the quality of your ideas,
**in that order**."
— Late MIT Prof. Patrick Winston
Once conform, once do what other people do because they do it, and a lethargy steals over all the finer nerves and faculties of the soul. She becomes all outer show and inward emptiness; dull, callous, and indifferent.

The man who is aware of himself is henceforward independent, and he is never bored, and life is only too short. He alone lives, while other people, slaves of ceremony, let life slip past them in a kind of dream.
Came across “mermaid avenue merchant” shop in Apollo bay today. Placed in an old church, with this mesmerising view of the ocean and the green hills. Right out of the fairy tales.
This morning got my internship offer to work as a “solutions architect” at #AWS, and still doubt that it could have been a prank :))
Took 3 years of applying, 4 round of interviews, and a whole lot of stress.

The World Cup is brilliantly co-organised by you, Australia. It's an honour to face the Matildas in the quarter-finals today, but no worries: Les Bleues will take the lead! Deal.
Last night I wanted to start on a side project I had in mind, so I give a lengthy description to chat GPT to get the first draft and work from there. And guess what, chat GPT's first draft works right there =)) Developers should seriously consider their job prospect! #LLM#AI
What if neural networks could learn "after deployment" and adapt to their domain seamlessly? This is what @ramin_m_h presents in this TED talk on "liquid neural network". Really recommended.

“LLMs are essentially stochastic parrots.”
I have been looking for a proper way to express my doubts about LLMs’ fundamentals and nothing does it better than this quote.
I just went through the Stanford CS231N handout on Neural Network back-propagation, and for the first time got the "intuition" behind NN learning (by intuition I mean more than "it's just chain rule"). For anyone working in the area, I really recommend it: https://t.co/NsQkEclgBX
@PaulRaschky Let's be fair, relative to Melbourne and Sydney the other cities are small (at least population-wise, the closest one being Toronto). Managing a city with ~0.5 million people (Copenhagen, Zurich, Vancouver, ...) is nothing like managing Melbourne and Sydney.
