Barack: You told me all those years ago that you couldn’t promise me the world, but you could promise me an interesting life. Of course, you outdid yourself and managed to give me both.
Eight years in the crucible, and not once did you melt from the heat. Not once did you let it harden you. Instead, you used it to reveal your truest essence: your stubborn optimism and unflinching courage, your dazzling brilliance and unpretentious decency, your ferocious work ethic and absolutely unshakable moral fiber.
To be clear: I have student debt & trying to protect my fiancé. He just wants to get married... but he was also shocked at owing taxes this year. We're *just barely* lower middle-class. Add in my student loans 🙄.
Anyone saying, "Get married & have kids": You can get bent, too.
Fiancé and I thought we might finally tie the knot (13th anniversary). 2026 is the first time:
-He owed federal taxes
-Raise was offset by health ins cost
-Groceries & rent
-Aging parents/travel/gas prices
-Daily, existential dread https://t.co/bHFTYQT9pw

BREAKING: Labor unions draw a red line — FIRE Noem and Miller and get ICE out of Minnesota before more Americans die.
America’s labor movement just delivered a thunderclap—and it’s aimed straight at Donald Trump’s immigration dragnet.
After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and U.S. citizen in Minneapolis, the AFL-CIO, representing nearly 15 million workers, issued a blistering demand: ICE must leave Minnesota “before anyone else is hurt or killed.”
“This was senseless,” the federation said, condemning what it called the Trump administration’s “horrific operation” designed to “stoke violence and chaos.” Tens of thousands of Minnesotans, the union noted, have already made their opposition “peacefully and powerfully” clear. Now labor is done waiting.
Pretti—an ICU nurse at a VA hospital and a union member—was filming agents during Operation Metro Surge, a sweeping federal deployment of roughly 2,000 agents across Minnesota. DHS claims Pretti “approached” agents while carrying a 9mm handgun. But multiple videos show him never threatening officers, being disarmed and subdued before shots were fired. Minneapolis police confirmed Pretti had a permit to carry.
This wasn’t an isolated tragedy. It followed the January 7 killing of Renee Good, another American citizen, by ICE. The result? A state on edge—and now, a united labor front demanding accountability.
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) went even further, calling for the resignations or firings of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump’s immigration policy. “These were not abstract policy choices,” AFGE President Everett Kelley said. “They were imposed from the top—without regard for the consequences.”
Minnesota’s biggest companies—Target, Cargill, UnitedHealth, Allianz—are calling for immediate de-escalation. Unions representing federal workers say the same reckless policies have turned communities into tinderboxes.
The message from labor is unmistakable: This crackdown isn’t about safety. It’s about retribution. And if Trump won’t stop it, America’s workers are ready to force the issue—before more lives are lost.
Please like and share the good news from the labor sector!
Raskin: "I think the people have Minnesota have shown us with their mass demonstration and general strike the direction that we may need to go in nationally in order to send the message that American society does not accept this authoritarian derailment of the US Constitution."
If I have to keep repeating myself, I will.
A National Strike of over 12 million people for at least 3 days will shut this shit down.
At some point, Americans, as a collective entity, need to say that's enough.
Alex Pretti died because he had the audacity to shield a woman from pepper spray — and the loser Nazi incels simply couldn't handle seeing a REAL MAN stand up to them. The entire fascist authoritarian Trump regime are fucking cowards, including Trump, JD Vance and Stephen Miller.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

1. Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse and American citizen, peacefully assembles on the streets of Minneapolis. First amendment.
2. Alex has a legally licensed firearm concealed and tucked in his waistband. Second amendment.
3. An unarmed woman is shoved to the ground by a masked federal agent. Alex steps forward to intervene with his phone in his hand. He’s pepper-sprayed, then tackled to the ground by multiple ICE agents with his hands in the air.
4. While on all fours, 6 agents beat him while another agent pistol whips him in the face. Another agent snatches Alex’s firearm from his waistband and walks away.
5. The agents fire ten shots at point blank range, killing him.
6. Despite 3+ angles of video evidence, the administration launches a smear campaign and claims Alex was a domestic terrorist and “would-be assassin” that intended to massacre law enforcement.
If you’re *still* defending this, I hope you’re prepared to go down with the ship.
Let’s shut this whole fucking country down. Stop the ICE murders. Boycott USA if you are abroad. We don’t need a World Cup or a rock band’s tour, we need justice and serious fucking help.
