Collen Busang Kebinatshipi is really an unpredictable athlete. It's hard to know what race plan would work against him.
In Gaborone, I felt Nene should have gone all out and taken the sting out of Kebinatshipi, thereby forcing him to expend a lot of energy chasing him...
But the problem is that, the guy runs as if he knows he would definitely catch you.
In this race from Tokyo, Rai Benjamin was way ahead when he got the baton, but Kebi still overhauled that lead. This defeats the theory of trying to pull further away from him.
Running all out against him is a flawed strategy. You are the one who would tire out - he doesn't get tired of chasing. If you try to stay with him like Nene did in Botswana, and then kicking in the home straight, you are just playing into his game.
So how do beat this guy? Honestly, you can't. He is the best in the game right now, and is going to dominate for a very long time.
You have our heart, Gaborone 🩵
