Inutusan ng Korte Suprema ang Kongreso na magpasa ng batas para ipagbawal ang political dynasties sa bansa.

Ito’y matapos aprubahan ng korte ang consolidated petitions na inihain ng 1Sambayan Coalition sa pangunguna nina retired Supreme Court associate justice Antonio Carpio, retired Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, at iba pang grupo.

“The Supreme Court held that Congress's failure to do so for 39 years constitutes grave abuse of discretion,” saad ni Supreme Court Spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting.

“Despite changes in the composition of Congress over the years, no comprehensive anti-political dynasty law has been enacted, implying either a lack of interest, avoidance for convenience, or service of self-interest,” dagdag pa niya.

'HINDI KA BIKTIMA'

Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima hit back at Vice President Sara Duterte over her repeated expressions of fear and distrust during her appearance at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, where she posted bail on three counts of grave threats.

“Hindi ka biktima. May pananagutan ka,” De Lima said in a Facebook post on Sunday, September 6, as she stressed that Duterte must face the allegations against her and answer through the proper legal process.

Duterte had questioned the security arrangements and expressed concerns for her safety during her September 5 court appearance, a day after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with the grave threats complaints.

Sa kaniyang post sa X (dating Twitter) account, tinawag ni Trillanes na “wala sa tamang pag-iisip” si Duterte at nanawagan sa taumbayan na pumili ng maayos na lider ng bansa.
