My book 'Behold your mother' for @CTSpublishers is now available to read. If you've enjoyed my posts so far, you will enjoy the book! The saints are truly wonderful guides. See: https://t.co/xIHY7KvJbT
In this week of prayer for Christian unity, it is hard to see any path to the restoration of unity amongst all Christ’s followers other than a Marian one! Attempts to restore unity amongst all Christians should not be dissolved into an impersonal spiritual journey.
"This companionship includes not only those fellow Christians who live alongside us, but also angels, saints and Our Lady; as well as the Holy Trinity."
"Just as the Trinity incorporates within it interpersonal relations, so Christianity is a companionship and not simply a set of practices and ideas." Keep your eyes open for ways to deepen this companionship! (Behold your mother)
St. Maximilian Kolbe: “Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.” This is as true for an entire community as for an individual person.
St Bernadette found consolation in praying in the garden of her convent, before a statue of Our Lady of the Waters. Visiting a statue of Our Lady that is local to you can provide consolation, evne when you are unable to travel to a favourite pilgrimage site.
What is it that is most real, most true in life? St. Maximilian Kolbe was convinced that it was Mary herself who shaped the events of his life, including his success in establishing a vast publishing empire.
@BishopBarron "I fully grant that devotion towards the Blessed Virgin has increased among Catholics with the progress of centuries; I do not allow that the doctrine concerning her has undergone a growth, for I believe that it has been in substance one and the same from the beginning."-Newman
@BpRobertReed Take the opportunity to learn from the new doctor. "No one has access to the Almighty as His Mother has; none has merit such as hers. Her Son will deny her nothing that she asks; and herein lies her power." - Newman. If you in need, call out to Our Lady!
@VaticanNews How can you, truly you - yourself, shine in full dignity? "No one has access to the Almighty as His Mother has; none has merit such as hers. Her Son will deny her nothing that she asks; and herein lies her power." Call out to Our Lady in your heart!
@FeserEdward What a fascinating perspective from our new Doctor, from his letter to Pusey. In all truth the apostles manifested great devotion to Our Lady. We see this clearly with St John at the foot of the cross, and in their prayer together before Pentecost.

@CatholicSat Well, let's listen to what the new doctor, St John Henry Newman had to say: "No one has access to the Almighty as His Mother has; none has merit such as hers. Her Son will deny her nothing that she asks; and herein lies her power."
These are Therese's words to a novice: "Here is my secret. I never make remarks to you before I have invoked the Blessed Virgin. I ask her to inspire me with what will do you the most good."
"Experience taught #thereseoflisieux that prayer was far more effective in touching someone else’s heart than mere words." (Behold your mother) Is there someone around you whose heart needs to be touched in some way?
"To ask for help from Mary is, in its own way, to call her blessed: because we recognise in making a request that she has blessings to share with us." (Behold you mother) This is just one way to express gratitude to God for the salvation that has come to us through her Son.
"When God provides our necessities through Mary’s hands, then we become more affectionate towards our spiritual mother, and our trust in God grows." (Behold your mother). What necessities have come to you through her hands?
