Trump’s Justice Department just failed to defend nearly 100 years of safety protections on silencers, short-barreled rifles and shotguns.
DOJ could have fought to keep these safeguards in place. Instead, it gave gun industry CEOs exactly what they wanted.

Flock is bad because:
It builds a searchable dragnet of Americans’ movements with persistent retention.
It operates without meaningful limits.
It allows searches without warrants or individualized suspicion in ordinary use.
It already has a clear track record of overreach and abuse.
Imagine if police had the Flock cameras when states were locked down in 2020.
Imagine how they would be used to track people and punish them for doing things like going to church or going to the beach.
This is not a left vs right issue. Its a wrong vs right issue and we all need to oppose these unconstitutional invasions of privacy.
Deflock America!
@amitylee13 I think it's an architectural triumph. If you look at it from down the river you can see how each level of the structure respects the buildings around it by matching heights, and it's stylistically forward without being gaudy or pretentious.
If you supported Donald Trump you owe it to yourself to figure out why it was possible to mislead you and how you can armor your mind against the next demagogue.
Trump dropped more bombs in his first term than Obama did. The record for most dropped in a single year since 9/11 *goes to Trump in 2017.*
We don't know, for sure, how many Trump dropped altogether, as he ended the requirement to report drone strikes in 2019.
Trump was as much of a warmonger as Bush or Obama in his first term. Anyone that believed the, "no new wars" line got duped. A private citizen who doesn't follow the numbers and voted on vibes, I understand. They're still wrong, but I understand.
MTG was a *CONGRESSWOMAN.*
She lied about being CFO of Taylor Commercial and then was a CrossFit trainer. She was a big pro-police fake news blogger, lol.
Her public career started in 2019 with attacking AOC through the mail slot to her office, followed by claiming Ilhan Omar and Rashiba Tlaib were not "official" representatives because they had not been sworn in on the Bible.
She's also the "space lasers" loony who suggested the 2018 California wildfires were started by Jews with LASERS FROM SPACE.
She spent a DECADE doing everything she could to support a warmongering piece of shit.
She's supported Russia's terrorism against Ukraine and still does.
She lied about COVID, repeatedly (she and Fauci are just two sides of the same coin, there).
She believes there's no such thing as evolution.
She's been with the Three Percenters and the Oath Keepers (far-right militias that believe in taking control of the country by force for Christian and white nationalists, as well as wanting to bomb "antifa" and BLM).
She's talked openly about how how *voting against the border wall* meant that Pelosi (another piece of shit, but not for a vote on the nonsense wall) was a traitor and should be put to death.
She goes on about "leftist" attacks, but says that all rightoid attacks are false flags.
She openly celebrated the death of Pope Francis as "Evil being defeated by the hands of God."
Believes in the so-called "white genocide."
Like... why are people sitting at the table with this absolute idiot like she's anything other than a dumptruck full of stupid?
It's like because she had a good take on the Epstein Files that some folks just FORGOT that she's despicable.
@MLiamMcCollum A more useful statement is that they were taken in by obvious lies.
Recognizing this creates the opportunity to learn from the mistakes and avoid them in the future.
Abdicating responsibility and saying "nuh uh" leaves us open to the same failure later.
@ToddHagopian@LPNH Faction-based bullshit results in an insane pendulum that gets worse. "They started it" is a) true and b) a lousy reason to continue it.
I want LPNH's antics to stop. I'm not sure what's the best way to do that without this witch hunt.
@Jessethefree I've been talking to some smart Dems who are recognizing Trumpism as authoritarianism and realizing that you can't build that machine with the intention of doing enforced equality without ending up in exactly the same place.
@TheChiefNerd When my buddy @KaiserForMT was interviewed about what he'd do about the Israel/Gaza situation as governor, his answer was along the lines of "not the responsibility of the governor of MT" and I feel like it's something all of these non-federal politicians should internalize.
@SenatorWarnock Here's a list of other things you can ban to pat yourself on the back for not fixing anything:
AR-15s, used in 3% of gun homicides
Drinking straws, 2-4% of plastic beach litter items
Texting while driving, 2-4% of fatal crashes
Trans athletes, .002% of NCAA athletes
