So dang proud of this amazing food allergy team at @childrensatl…they have been working hard for #FoodAllergyAwarenessWeek next week. Hope I’m not spoiling but leaving now I saw these teal Tic-Tac giveaways ready for clinic next week, to educate & enjoy @FoodAllergy
@basilmd0@ATLergist@AnnalsAllergy@childrensatl This is great to hear! Anxiety exposure paradigms have great empirical support. Would be curious about areas of similarity and divergence in the approaches - sparking these convos was exactly our hope for sharing
So proud to work with a team who is dedicated to caring for the whole person. Allergies can be complicated - we hope this info can help ease day to day living with #foodallergy
So proud that my wonderful colleague @KaitBProctor coauthored this piece in @AnnalsAllergy & that we already offer this in our routine allergy clinic. We treat the whole patient - & family - @childrensatl. Come see us! https://t.co/OaW4fNgsFS
Let's talk about impacts that the pandemic had on #foodallergy, initially and now - both my own clinical observations as an allergy-informed family therapist, and research data that's now available.
First, observed impacts the pandemic has had on social media engagement. (1/12)

Such a compelling narrative here - families want access to comprehensive care, including mental health support. So excited seeing these calls for integrated care!
Food allergies are a chronic and potentially life threatening condition well established to cause not just adaptive stress but impairment in ADLs and reduction in QOL.
Access to mental health support is shockingly poor as shown here…(1/)
Excited to announce a virtual option for a multidisciplinary conference on 5/14-15 @childrensatl to focus on pediatric feeding problems. Many of our kids with allergies struggle - but there are solutions! Info below. Featuring @drlindaherbert @DrJennyThomas & more - join us!

So fantastic! Thanks to @PBSKIDS & to @MichaelPistiner, who is just such a mensch. This piece is specifically about food allergy - which is often misunderstood- but more broadly about cultivating inclusion & compassion. Please read, share, amplify! Kids will win if you do.
Quality time with your children and loved ones can be crucial in fostering a healthy relationship. @ChildrensNatl’s @dreleanormackey shares some Do’s and Don’ts of positive interactions 👇🏼 #CNHPsychology#GrowUpStronger https://t.co/tKiBZGGnC5

Having the right assessment tools can help improve patient and provider communication. Thrilled to be part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting the whole patient!
Proud to share this collaborative work - all credit to @KaitBProctor@FullBelliesDoc & team.
tl;dr: there is a shortage of validated tools, developed to NIH PROMIS or FDA standards, that can be used at the bedside to identify psychosocial distress in #foodallergy families
Grateful to @AllergicLiving for raising awareness of #ARFID and its association, in some patients, with #foodallergies. We have much yet to learn, but are actively collaborating with Dr. Sharp and his skilled team @childrensatl & @EmoryPediatrics. More to come!
Great fun bantering w/ the 1 & only @AllergyKidsDoc on this episode. Thanks for the opportunity @AAAAI_org!
Hope folks find something helpful in here as we parents all navigate these minefields together.
Best of luck y’all! Let’s all show each other more love & compassion.
