I wonder if “gifted kid burnout” is just: You learn to navigate by the reward signal of achievement (easy, ppl tell you how to get it) so you never develop the more subtle ability to navigate by what interests you. Then when achievement gets sparse, you feel aimless & unmotivated

@thegnarlygnack My bestie had her first in Dec. & has similar rules. I take it as she is a new mom & she has to establish herself as her child’s mother amongst all the other family who would try to put their wants&beliefs over hers.I’m all for what she says goes as she navigates this big change.

In one I was trying to decide if I should go out into the water and meet her and outside my dream I heard a man sigh and say, “just make up your mind already” which woke me up. I hadn’t heard that voice since I was quite young.
