All I ever strive to achieve with my work is to bring history to life, to connect you to the the past in a way that perhaps you hadn't connected before. I try to make history seem as real & contemporary as today, & with modern technology as a tool it is increasingly possible.
This is a photo of the Crimean War soldier Colour-Sergeant Andrew Taylor, of the 72nd Highlanders, who photographed 168 years ago by Joseph Cundall in 1856.
I restored the photo, and then I digitally enhanced the definition. After that, I manually colourised it in Photoshop. And then, finally, a little magic was breathed into it, to bring it fully to life. It may be the past, ladies and gentlemen, but I think those 170 years have simply melted away...
@Tjeerd001 yes I do - 4 digit number preceded by a 2 letter alpha code ............... you went through the operator to make a call & it was a party line ........... long time ago
